Country chic
Style at Home managing editor Tamara Robbins Griffith had this classic rocker spray lacquered white, and the base finished in a sunny yellow. Jim Thompson’s China Lilly 2067/01 fabric was used for the seat and toss cushions. Natalie Hodgins, a stylist at Sarah Richardson Design, chose an ivory-coloured fabric from Designer Fabrics to recover this chair’s original worn upholstery. The frame was stained in a rich cherry and nailhead detailing adds an unique embellishment.
Neo-baroque
Bev Hisey is a Canadian textile artist and carpet designer. The chair she chose was once covered in needlepoint. Bev replaced it with her signature machine-embroidered ants on gun-metal grey linen. She painted the frame in a similar shade.
