christmas cookie recipe: sugar cookies with vanilla icing
                With our annual
Holiday Cookie Recipe Swap under wraps and Christmas Eve closing in on us, our days seem to be filling with
Christmas cards and cookies here at the office. And it's no wonder - baking is one of my favourite ways to get into the holiday spirit. The sweet scents fill my home and it’s amazing how big of a smile you can get from sharing confections.
This holiday, I decided to try my hand at
sugar cookies for the first time. My go-to
cookie recipe tends to be
old-time gingersnaps, but I felt like switching it up to another holiday favourite.

How do you think they turned out? The icing and decorating was the most laborious, but also the most rewarding part of the process. I found the blue sugar beads at Winners and the
icing recipe was a combination of confectioner’s sugar, milk, corn syrup and vanilla extract – which I changed up at my own discretion.
