friday happy hour: dark and stormy
Since there’s nothing quite like a boozy drink to warm you up at the end of a long work week, I’d like to share a cocktail recipe each Friday for the next month or so. Next up: the dark and stormy. This one's super simple to make and only requires three ingredients. Plus, it kind of perfectly matches my temperament this week – good riddance to you, January!
The dark and stormy tastes much better if you use actual ginger beer, as opposed to ginger ale (don't get me wrong though, I use ginger ale most of the time due to pure convenience). Fill a tall glass with ice, then pour in a good-quality dark rum to one-third or one-half of the glass. Top it off with the ginger beer (or ale) and a lime wedge for garnish. Be sure to squeeze the lime, it perfectly balances the drink's sweet and spicy flavours. P.S. More cocktail recipes
