Most people know Aran Goyoaga as the blogger behind the stunningly beautiful food blog,
Cannelle et Vanille, but she is so much more. A mother, stylist, photographer and foodie, Aran loves the joy that entertaining and food bring to people and her enthusiasm for life is contagious on her blog.
We caught up with Aran to find out her current obsessions with all things fabulous, fun and food-related.
1 If you could shadow any chef/foodie for a day, who would it be?
Aran Goyoaga My grandfather Angel who was a master pastry chef, but passed away 8 years ago.
2 Where do you look for obscure sources of inspiration?
AG I was recently given an old kitchen journal from a convent, which gave me tons of ideas.
3 Favourite restaurant?
AG I just discovered ABC Kitchen in NYC and loved it.
4 What’s your favourite kitchen gadget?
AG A good chef’s knife and my KitchenAid mixer, no question.
5 What’s your current ingredient obsession?
AG Anything seasonal. Perhaps the wild mushrooms my dad and I picked together this summer in the Basque Country.

AG ABC Home in NYC
8 London, Paris or New York?
AG I love them all, but NYC holds a special place in my heart.
9 If money were no object, what one thing would you buy?
AG An old country house with a beautiful garden that I could restore and have all my family there with me.
10 What do you consider to be the most iconic cookbook of the past century?
AG There are too many to narrow down to one, but anything that Alice Waters, Michel Bras and Andoni Luis Aduriz have written has affected me deeply.

AG The Royal Tennenbaums.
13 What's your easy, go-to appetizer?
AG The quintessential tapa, which is a slice of Spanish tortilla with bread.

AG The collection of Mario Testino’s best work.
15 What’s your fave way to spend a lazy Sunday?
AG Baking with my family (after taking a good nap).

17 What do you think is the best investment for a kitchen?
AG A good set of knives, although I’m very intrigued by the Thermomix.
18 What is your fave recipe that you've created?
AG Quinoa milk pudding with strawberries and pistachios.
19 What’s the biggest baking/cooking faux pas?
AG Thinking that spending more money in the kitchen will mean a better meal. Well-executed simplicity is the best thing, always.

AG I will have to go with Audrey, although I love them all in their own way!
