5 ways to prepare your home for spring (without cleaning)
Spring cleaning is a must every time the snow starts to melt outside, but there are other ways to give your home a breath of fresh air as the warm season approaches.
In fact, the following 5 tips don't include any mops or cleaning products: they're small changes that will help you leave winter behind and embrace spring.
1. Buy new sheets

Go through each of your flat and fitted sheets to identify those that are stained, worn, torn, discoloured or just tattered. This is your chance to say goodbye to that outdated bedding and get a fresh and clean start to the season.
2. Spreading a good smell

Walk around your home and identify areas that could use a little fresh air. You can add a scented candle in your bedroom or bathroom, a scented diffuser in your kitchen or an air freshener in your hallway. Open the windows and let your rooms breathe.
3. Change your curtains

If you have dark curtains or grey shades, try to refresh your home for spring by opting for lighter shades such as white, off-white, cream or beige.
4. Think plants

This is the time to go to the nurseries and bring back your favourite greenery. They will not only beautify the rooms of your home, but also filter the air.
If you don't have a green thumb, a vase of fresh flowers, changed every two weeks, can give you the touch of life that makes the difference without the long-term commitment.
5. Revisit the layout of the furniture

If you do all of the above and feel that your home is still in a stagnant state, try arranging your furniture differently. Switching it up may bring the desired wind of change. Whether you base your decision on the principles of Feng Shui or simply on your instinct, small changes can have a big impact on your morale and reignite your love for your home.
