1 Place as much importance on your bathroom as you would on your living room. We spend more time there primping and prepping than we ever do sitting on the sofa.

2 Go for attractive-looking faucets and hardware – they’re really important features.

3 Don’t skimp on countertops. A good-quality stone like marble looks so much better than a laminate.

4 Incorporate furniture into your bathroom, including a terry cloth-upholstered chair so you can sit on it wet with no stress.

5 Install multiple light sources to get an even glow. Having even bathroom lighting is vital for applying makeup.

6 Spend the extra money on a proper rain shower head for a luxurious experience.

7 When in doubt, keep it simple. White on white never gets stale in a bathroom.
