When homeowners Mariana and Donato D’Amici approached The Cross
Design about designing their master bathroom, they already knew exactly what it should look like – namely a luxury boutique hotel they’d stayed in. “They wanted the space to feel high-end and luxurious but still very neutral and calm,” says Joanna.
Floating vanity
To keep the foating vanity from looking flat and clinical, recessed panel drawers were chosen.

Curved bathtub
Glass-panelled doors lead out to a balcony and offer stunning views of Vancouver from the beautifully curved bathtub.

Get the look on a limited budget
Focus on creating a light, open space with minimal finishings. “People get excited when they’re renovating bathrooms and want to use all these crazy finishes, which they think will create a really extravagant, beautiful space, but it’s actually the opposite,” says Joanna. “Keep your finishes to two or three and maintain a cohesive colour palette.” And, while the expanse of marble tile is the big statement here, you could also use a porcelain or ceramic tile to achieve the pared-back look.
