The goal of this kitchen renovation combined clean lines, a quiet palette and a mix of natural materials to create a contemporary space that's also approachable and warm. Traditional architecutral detailing, such as the moulding around the windows and doors, alludes to the era of the house.

With a home-office nook, a large island and a multi-purpose alcove (with a TV, wine storage, shelves, drawers and banquette seating), the kitchen acts as the hub of the open-concept main floor.
