It's here! Online boutique Black Rooster Decor's first bricks and mortar store has finally arrived. In fact, today marks its one-week-a-versary. Set in Toronto's very trendy Leslieville neighbourhood, the space looks more like a carefully curated living room than a retail environment – and for good reason: the very talented Christine Dovey (see her son's precious nursery in Style at Home's September 2013 issue) styled the store. Welcomed by edgy-but-sweet owner Nina Ber-Donkor, you'll feel like you've come to visit a good girlfriend at her super stylish home. The best part about ogling this lady's space? She won't mind you "copying" that to-die-for down-filled toss cushion or perfectly quirky accessory. Though some of the merchandise, like antiques refurbished in milk paint and natural fibres, is a splurge, many of the price tags will pleasantly surprise you. Here are some of my favourite steal-worthy looks. I adore the graphic prints and border details on these extra-thick Australian-imporated toss cushions.   Christine Dovey is also an amazing abstract artist; graphic paintings like this one adorn the walls of Black Rooster Decor. But hurry – many tags read "Sold." So often the centre of a seating arrangement, a coffee table should be a show-stopper like this faceted antiqued-mirroed beauty. Little bits of special here and there add a decorator's touch to any space. From their miniature stature to their pop of gold to their cheeky reference to wishful thinking, I love everything about these little wishbone cloches.
